Nofu Chronicles #9 - Fear Is An Illusion

After dedicating seven years to clinical skincare, my detailed training in this field was coming to an end. Throughout the years, I had honed my skills in extractions and had become precise at it. Clients had even given me the nickname "feather fingers" due to my ability to extract without causing much pain. This specialty has become my trademark and what I am known for. Truly felt like I now had a Master's in clinical skincare.

I had a chance encounter with my Russian Esthetician teacher while she was working at Neiman Marcus. She chuckled and mentioned that it was often the shyest students who excelled in clinical skincare. Her words resonated with me, reminding me that fear is merely an illusion. Now, as an acne specialist, I am equipped to share my knowledge of food triggers, comedogenic ingredients, and other valuable tips I've acquired along my journey.

With a mix of excitement and nervousness, I had decided to part ways amicably and open my own shop in Alameda. To prepare myself for this new endeavor, I enrolled in a comprehensive five-week business course in Oakland, which  proved to be immensely helpful. Fortunately, a friend of mine was opening a brand new salon in Alameda and had set aside a room just for me. It was finally time for me to spread my wings and leave the nest, and I couldn't be more grateful for the invaluable knowledge and training I had received. Seven years of training under my belt, I was ready for the next chapter.
